There are quite a few clues planted early on, and the protagonist appears later. The story is about two protagonists who share the same birthday but grow up in vastly different circumstances. After the Imperial Preceptor casts a divination, he declares that one has an exalted fate and the other a lowly one, and that they are destined to fight each other to the death. Must they spend their lives loving and battling one another, until only one of them is left alive?
There are past and present lives, as well as the love and hatred between their parents' generation. It's a bit melodramatic, but a pure romance.
A note about the earlier chapters: the protagonist will later change their name, since it is currently only a childhood nickname. Their true background will be revealed.
“I want to hold a grand celebration for you on your birthday.”
“Why should the grudges from your past lives be mine to bear now? I am a new person. I have no memories of any past life.”
