This textbook consists of four levels: "Phonetic Symbols", "Zero Basic", "Elementary" and "Intermediate" to help Chinese adults with zero basic knowledge achieve the goal of speaking English fluently. The content of the textbook is in the general English category. The "Phonetic Symbol" uses the International Phonetic Symbol as a clue and integrates natural spelling. Through the combination of phonetic symbols and spelling, the course covers the complete process of "from listening to pronunciation to spelling", helping learners with zero or weak foundation to lay a solid foundation, fully master the rules of basic English pronunciation, and accumulate the most core English vocabulary. "Zero Basic" is built on the basis of "phonetic symbols" to help zero-based students establish the most basic English language structure framework, including four basic sentence patterns such as affirmative sentences and negative sentences, as well as basic lexical patterns such as adverbs, prepositions, transitive verbs, and intransitive verbs. "Elementary" is built on the "zero foundation", upgrading the pure language framework into situational application of language, supplemented by the teaching of pronunciation skills to help learners initially establish conversational abilities in life situations. Each unit of "Elementary" consists of an original scenario dialogue, covering a total of 16 core life scenarios such as greetings, asking for directions, dining, and booking a room. "Intermediate" is built on "Elementary" and still focuses on the situational application of language and advanced pronunciation skills to help learners strengthen their conversational skills in daily life situations. All the texts in "Intermediate" are original life sitcoms, involving common life topics such as shopping, restaurants, and travel, and have relatively complete plots.
