Old Stories Lost to the Years

I wrote this little piece in a frenzy after watching the film Full River Red about a year ago. I've revised it and added a bit more, and am posting it here for safekeeping.

The main character is He Li, alongside my original female lead, A Ling. The story takes place several years before the film and tells of a clear-eyed yet consuming love from the past.

“To meet is no better than never to have met; what is love but the same as indifference? Everything that happened here, whether it made sense or not, is nothing more than a thing of the past.”
