In the winter of 1993, Chen Dong was an ordinary boy from the countryside. But whether the kid was born under an unlucky star or what, his whole family died around him. By the time he was two, only his parents were left. One day, as he crawled around on the bed, he climbed onto his father. By accident, he hit his head on the corner of a radiator and bled heavily. His parents rushed him to the hospital, and though they got him there in time, he barely survived. He ate any snakes, bugs, rats, or insects he caught, and fought dogs, cats, and other children without ever crying. Yet at times he seemed like a perfectly normal kid: he cared for plants and flowers, fed stray dogs, got along with his classmates and friends, and felt bad even when he stepped on an ant. At school, his grades were neither good nor terrible, just average. His looks were average, his height was average, his number of friends was average. He was an utterly ordinary person, the sort you could lose in a crowd. But the kid was incredibly fit. Though he wasn't muscular and looked a little skinny and dark-skinned, nobody could catch him when he ran. He had a crew cut, with a few longer strands deliberately left at the front, giving him a careless, rebellious look.
His life began to change from that point on. He met the person he would love most in his life, and the person he would hate most. He also encountered all kinds of strange and extraordinary events: murders, dismemberments, and other cases. It seemed that everyone he knew was cursed by him, and all sorts of things kept happening around him.
Who was the killer? Who was pulling the strings? With twists and turns at every corner, the plot grows ever more mysterious. What joys and sorrows will the protagonist experience? Let’s find out as the story unfolds.
