A hundred years after Himmel's death, Frieren watched her beloved apprentice Fern pass away from illness. At last, she understood human emotions and love, and chose to love someone herself.
Nine hundred years after Himmel's death, demons had vanished, humanity entered an unprecedented era of peace, and the human world developed at a rapid pace. Having passed through the "Blood Plague Era," the "Great Age of Piracy," and the "Steam Age," the world had become interconnected.
Frieren chose to marry Klud Grasimov, a train engineer from the northern Lucia Snow Empire (this country lies east of the Demon King's Castle, reaching the eastern coast and crossing the Aurora Strait; from there, follow the Sea of the Far East northward to find it). They had a little daughter, Arisa, a beautiful girl with both elven and human blood.
But one day, their peaceful life was shattered.
A new dark force invaded the continent where Frieren lived. The capital could not withstand the enemy, and they hoped Frieren would travel east to find reinforcements. At that moment, Frieren's sixteen-year-old daughter left a letter behind, departed from her family alone, and sailed east. No one knew where she had gone.
To save the capital and find her missing daughter, Frieren set out on a journey. But the dark force continued to obstruct her, seemingly because they knew her daughter's secret.
