(Reunion after a long separation, mutual healing, sweet and devoted romance, female growth, intangible cultural heritage)
A cool, indulgent, secretly lovesick tech mogul versus a gorgeous, flamboyant, slightly willful inheritor of Nushu
On her first day transferring to a new high school in her senior year, Xu Yao met Shi Qinwei, a rebellious girl with gray-blue hair who stood in the sunshine, carefree and flamboyant.
She blocked his path and began her long pursuit of him.
Somehow, the girl he’d initially found so annoying quietly made her way into his heart.
Beneath a sky ablaze with sunset, he looked across the crowd and met her gaze.
He thought, I hope the day we promised each other would come soon.
Seven years later, they met again. Shi Qinwei sat in a dim, shabby bar, smiling casually as she asked, “Xu Yao, have you been well?”
He thought he ought to hate her for leaving without a word all those years ago.
But how could anyone hate without a reason?
That night, he pinned her against the wall of a narrow alley.
“Shi Qinwei, I’m giving you one more chance. Can you keep your promise?”
“What promise?”
“That we’d be together after the college entrance exams.”
A luxury jewelry brand overseas stole designs from Jiangyong Nushu, a traditional Chinese script, and claimed them as its own. Shi Qinwei, an inheritor of Nushu, was furious.
To protect Nushu, she and Xu Yao visited Nushu villages and worked together to build a database of intangible cultural heritage elements in creative software, using culture and technology to bring Chinese Nushu to the world.
(The child’s background will be explained later. The child is not the female lead’s.)
This is the best novel I have read recently, and it is also the first one among the many novels about intangible cultural heritage that I have read about Jiang Yong Nu Shu. Support Chinese intangible cultural heritage and oppose cultural appropriation! I particularly like the heroine's character, who is beautiful, willful, arrogant, venomous, and a bit energetic. It's so touching. In the early stage, the male protagonist was entangled in resentment and unforgettable old love because the female protagonist refused to say goodbye. Later, after he understood his own feelings, he has been gentle and doting on her, accompanying her to realize her ideal. It's really too sweet. The second male lead and the second female lead are also very sweet. The second male lead has been protecting the female lead for many years, but in the end he was manipulated by the sober lawyer female lead. But there are too few plots for the male and female characters. Does the author have any plans to write a separate story for them? I think I prefer the handsome and sunny rich second-generation character of the male lead.
It's so beautiful when I was a student. The heroine managed to defeat the cold-blooded academic master bit by bit.
