(Don't read this old embarrassment...)
Li Zhao was inexplicably dragged by a System into a melodramatic historical romance novel, where she witnessed the love and hate between the heroine and hero, as well as the heart-wrenching romances with the many male supporting characters.
When she entered the novel's world, Li Zhao got to experience the agony of her original body's suicide by wrist-slashing.
“What the hell? Why do I have to suffer for you?”
On her second day in the novel's world, she took the original body's place and married Nangong Heng, the world's deranged second male lead, who tortured people at the slightest provocation.
Li Zhao missed home. On their wedding day, Nangong Heng didn't come to escort her or take part in the ceremony, let alone spend the night with her.
It wasn't until her third day in this world that Li Zhao realized she had transmigrated into a novel she had read long ago. As if being stuck in a book weren't enough, she also had an utterly heartless System to make her repair the story's world and keep the second male lead from turning evil. Li Zhao could have cried. In the book, she was a cannon-fodder supporting character who didn't survive past three chapters. Her death was absurd: she took a fatal blow meant for the male lead and died heroically, even though it was the heroine who stabbed him. Before that, Li Zhao had done nothing but bad things, from drugging the heroine to ruining her reputation. She simply couldn't stand seeing the heroine happy. And yet the System demanded that Li Zhao follow the plot.
“You've got to be kidding me. How am I supposed to follow the plot when I don't even survive three chapters?” Li Zhao demanded, without thinking.
The System's mechanical voice rang out: “Host, please cherish your life.”
“...”
Li Zhao refused to do what the System said and was punished for it. To avoid being erased by the System and get home as soon as possible, she had no choice but to work for it.
It's good-looking, good luck to the author!
This book is obviously very interesting, but why is there no one there? The author should work harder to create!!
