From the Start, I Became an Evil Spirit, Then Hit It Big After Inheriting an Incense Shop

Jia Ru was killed by her parents. Only after becoming a ghost did she accidentally learn that the people who had raised her for seventeen years weren't her birth parents, but human traffickers!

And Jia wasn't even her surname. Her surname was Su, and her name was Su Su!

To take revenge with her own hands, she made a deal with a deity of the Underworld and became an evil spirit who was half human and half ghost, commonly known as a Ghost King.

After avenging herself, Su Su began fulfilling her promise to the deity: finding an "auntie" to obtain a spirit-power stone, inheriting an incense shop, and gathering ghosts' resentment to repair the gates of the Underworld in Yaoling City...

*

Unexpectedly, her powers suddenly stopped working as soon as she set off.

She fell from a great height and was caught by a stunningly beautiful young man.

The boy seemed to want something from her and was excessively enthusiastic. Su Su looked herself over and came to a conclusion...

Su Su: "Are you trying to steal the only hospital gown I have?!"

Shen Shen: "..."

While they were talking, Su Su unexpectedly learned that the boy was the "auntie" she was looking for. Homophones really do cause trouble!

Shen Shen smiled. "Little evil spirit, broaden your horizons. Don't get hung up on gender."

Su Su: "..."

During the days Shen Shen kept her company (and clung to her), Su Su found the run-down House No. 688 (Incense Shop). The ghosts helped her rebuild it into an incense shop and guesthouse.

She took up the wonderful business of slaying (burning) ghosts, driving away (robbing) evil spirits, and helping (tricking) people through a life of fun (swindling) and adventure (kidnapping)~

By day, the incense shop was packed with customers.

By night, its guesthouse was overflowing with monsters and ghosts.

Looking at the booming business and Shen Shen bustling about in the kitchen, Su Su hugged her cat and smiled:

"Thank the deity for making me rich."
