He Yuzhu, a resident of a Beijing courtyard, is unexpectedly swept into the currents of history through a rift in time and space. In that era, an iron curtain hung low, and even breathing felt oppressive. Freedom was an unreachable dream. Most people chose to huddle in the shadows, burying their sorrows and dreams alike. But fate quietly changed course for He Yuzhu, an ordinary courtyard resident, when he was least prepared. His soul collided with the ideas of the twenty-first century, making him a heretic in that age.
His eyes held a light unlike anyone else’s, a curiosity about the unknown and a refusal to accept the status quo. He began to look at this oppressive world through modern eyes and realized that even in desperate circumstances, everyone still had the power to change their fate. He quietly shared modern knowledge with his neighbors, passing it along like a flame and igniting hope in their hearts. He taught them how to fight for their rights and how to find light in despair.
He Yuzhu knew that directly opposing the great tide of the times would be like throwing an egg against a rock, but he chose to work quietly in his own way. He used modern farming techniques to multiply the village’s crop yields, and made simple medical tools to ease the villagers’ suffering. Most moving of all, when he learned that a book-loving girl was at risk of losing her chance to study because of rigid doctrine, he stepped forward and paved the way for her to continue her education.
He Yuzhu’s name gradually became a legend, inspiring countless people groping their way through the darkness. He proved that even when the times weigh heavily upon us, an individual’s strength, though small, can still shine enough light to brighten the sky.
I don't know what it means when it's written.
It's very confusing to read, and the author needs to practice his writing skills.
