“We’re livestreaming to the whole internet, and my dead twin sister just winked at me!”
Forensic consultant Lin Xi takes on her sister’s identity to solve a case, only to discover she’s livestreaming herself destroying evidence. A quantum-sewn wound on her neck, a phone that’s perpetually at 78% charge, a clone cultivation pod hidden beneath a psychiatrist’s examination chair... When the seventh body identified as “Lin Wan” is discovered, the comments explode with a blood-red warning: “You’re the next victim.”
This collection contains several stories, each with its own distinct feel. It uses plenty of Northeastern Chinese dialect, giving the language more personality. A story has warmth when it’s written with care! Is the survivor a victim or the killer? Night has fallen. Close your eyes!
