[My Journey to You] A Madman at the Gong Sect

(Reborn + puppy-dog looks but a troubled heart + a loving family of three + everyone in the Gong family gets a happy ending except the eldest brother)

What makes someone a mad demon?

Madness means living freely, without restraint. Demonhood means that even among gods and buddhas, no one dares to question you.

A legendary mad demon died betrayed by his blood relatives. When he woke again, he found himself still alive, only now in the body of his supposedly “dead” younger brother.

Here, there is no fratricide, no fighting within the family.

There is only his eldest brother, devoted to the Gong family; his third brother, skilled in poison; his fourth brother, whose head is full of mush; his eldest sister, who loves chasing after Jin Fan; and his eldest brother, whom he always suspects of having ulterior motives.

The outside world may be in turmoil, and there may be a sinister organization at work, but that won’t stop him from putting all his skills on display.

In the bamboo grove, he demonstrates the Sixteen Forms of the Plum Blossom Cliff Technique.

Young Master Yue: “I’ve never seen a sword technique this fast. It’s as if you’re trying to cut every bamboo leaf to pieces.”

He dances through the snow with the White-Sleeve Curved Saber Technique.

Snow Boy: “You’re a natural-born martial artist.”

At the Flower Palace, he works with Young Master Hua to figure out how to use an explosion to blast apart a boulder weighing over twenty jin.

His daily routine includes tying Jin Fan up and delivering him to his eldest sister’s bed, sending secret weapons to his eldest brother far beyond the Gong family gates, making poison with his third brother, reporting his fourth brother for idling every day, and finding ways to rile up his eldest brother behind his back.

As time goes by, a legend about him spreads through the Gong family:

“The All-Purpose Young Master.”

The title comes from the fact that he can cook, keep the household in order, forge weapons, make poison, understand what young women are thinking (as explained by the eldest Miss Gong), excel at martial arts (according to Young Master Yue and Snow Boy), and tell right from wrong at a glance, making him good at exposing spies.
