I retired and returned to Chengdu last year to live with my father, and I could often listen to him tell stories about the past. My father, a veteran of the War to Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea, is 91 years old this year. Although the trauma caused by the war caused damage to his lumbar spine and limited mobility, he still has clear thinking and fresh memories, especially some little-known stories about the Volunteer Army Medical Team in the War to Resist U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea more than 70 years ago. But in my opinion, these stories will gradually become blurred or even lost in the long river of historical memory. Therefore, I wanted to use a clumsy pen and simple language to record these past events and leave traces in the form of an autobiographical novel. This novel contains many Shanghai dialects, as well as dialects from Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan and other places. If there are any inaccuracies, I hope readers will correct me.
