My new work is here! You are welcome to read it on Tomato Novel. I hope you enjoy it. Your support is what motivates me to write, and I will do my best to tell every story well!
Last year, after retiring, I returned to Chengdu and moved back in with my father. I can now regularly listen to him recount stories from the past. My father, a veteran of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, is now 91 years old. Though injuries sustained during the war damaged his lumbar spine and left him with difficulty moving, his mind remains sharp and his memories vivid. He can speak at length about some little-known stories of the volunteer army's medical teams during the war more than seventy years ago. But I believe these stories will gradually fade, and perhaps even disappear, in the long river of historical memory. So I decided to use my clumsy pen and plain language to record these events in the form of a lengthy autobiographical novel, leaving a trace behind. This novel includes many passages of Shanghai dialect, as well as dialects from Shanxi, Shandong, Henan, Sichuan, and other places. If anything is inappropriate, I hope readers will kindly point it out.
