During the Earthquake, My Husband Carried Out His First Love’s Dog

When my daughter died,

her father, a search-and-rescue worker, was standing right above us. But he took every member of his team to where his first love was.

The commotion triggered a second collapse, burying us again.

As she lay dying, my daughter was still trying to comfort me:

“Once Dad rescues Auntie Jiang, he'll come for us.”

“Until then, I'll stay with you, Mom. Don't be scared...”

But he never came. My daughter died.

At the funeral, I called Shen Yao.

He demanded furiously, “Auntie Jiang's emotional support dog broke its leg in the earthquake. Do you have to push her into a depressive episode before you'll be satisfied?”

Satisfied? No, Shen Yao.

Our daughter's birthday has become the anniversary of her death. It's time for our marriage certificate to become a divorce certificate too...
