My Mother-in-Law Bought Me a No-Seat Ticket

Last year, we spent New Year's at my husband's hometown. This year, it was my family's turn.

But my mother-in-law called to say she'd already booked train tickets for us.

My husband promised again and again that we'd spend New Year's with my family for the next three years, and I finally cooled down.

But once we boarded the train, I discovered that my mother-in-law had bought my husband a seat and me a standing ticket.

The journey was twelve hours long, so my husband suggested that we take turns sharing one seat.

But when it was my turn to sit, he pretended to be asleep and refused to budge. Then, in front of everyone, he shouted:

"This is my seat! Letting you sit is a favor. Not letting you sit is only right!"
