Female Alpha, male Omega, alternate history, a little political intrigue, strong female lead, ambitious worldbuilding, forced love, devoted couple, career-minded heroine, mostly feel-good and satisfying. The heroine has things largely under control, though some parts can be a bit brain-teasing. Read with care: the author likes planting foreshadowing.
At first, the female lead only wanted revenge for the He family. But after avenging them, she felt that women had a hard life, and she was the only one who had fought her way out. People in every country were living amid war, so she wanted women to be able to study, take the civil service examinations, and serve as officials. She wanted all the people of the world to live without the turmoil of war.
“I, He Yanting, didn’t get where I am today through my own efforts alone. I also have my companions and friends, and the countless people in this world who share my aspirations!
“I don’t care whether this world is real or not. I know only one thing: every person in this world has a precious, genuine life. They have the right and freedom to live in peace. Women in this world should have the same right I do to show what they can do, and the freedom to take control of their own lives. This world should be vibrant, peaceful, and secure.
“I, He Yanting, will keep striving toward this goal. I am willing to be its hero. But this goal will ultimately be achieved not because I am the heroine, but because everyone in this world wants change from the bottom of their hearts. I am simply the hero this era has brought forth. Heroes and the people make each other what they are.”
