In the Ming Dynasty, Feng Menglong or Lu Yunlong wrote long vernacular novels about world affairs. The book states that Wei Zhongxian's original name was Jin Zhong. In the 15th and 6th year of Wanli, due to a famine in his hometown and debts, he cut off his penis, divorced his wife, went to Beijing, and became a eunuch in the ceremonial department. For more than twenty years, he followed Emperor Tianqi from childhood to ascending the throne, and then became a close minister of the new emperor, wearing robes and jade belts. After that, Wei relied on his power to control the seal of Dongchang, formed a clique for personal gain, framed Zhongliang, and caused the wrath of the emperor all day long. Although he was once impeached, he was still favored by the emperor. Later, he planned to seize military power and built the Wei Gongsheng Temple. This trend spread to all provinces and extended to nine borders. After Chongzhen ascended the throne, Wei was impeached by hundreds of officials, and Fengyang was imprisoned. He then hanged himself in fear of the crime. The trees fell and the hozens dispersed. After the eunuchs of Wei were destroyed, the loyal ministers who were imprisoned by him were rescued and rehabilitated. The anti-Wei ministers who were forced to retreat to the forest were also allowed to return to their posts.

I especially hate Wei Zhongxian, the traitorous official. He formed a clique for personal gain and framed Zhongliang. It was really a heinous crime. But fortunately, he hanged himself in the end, which was considered the punishment he deserved. This book also made me understand that justice will eventually defeat evil!
