In this apocalypse, where people with supernatural abilities are identified by their eye color, Bian Shi, a commoner with brown eyes, is the least remarkable person in the interstellar world. He gets by streaming every day.
He never expected to be captured by Jiang Zhi, the supreme commander with purple eyes and lightning powers.
Good heavens, all he wanted was to earn enough for his neural computer’s charging bill so he could travel to another star system. Living a peaceful, lazy life was all he asked for.
He never expected Jiang Zhi to refuse to believe a word of it. “You’re sure you sing and dance for me just to get tips?”
“Of course!”
“Then why are you holding my hand?”
“Uh, I want to fight alongside the commander across the stars!”
“Then why are you releasing pheromones?”
Bian Shi panicked and covered the back of his neck. “That’s nonsense. I’m not!”
Jiang Zhi slowly closed in. “Your scent is everywhere in the air.”
First, the commander’s troublesome fiancée bullies Bian Shi. Then the commander’s father tries to drive him away.
Bian Shi cries out to the heavens in exasperation. He really has no improper feelings for Jiang Zhi. Why won’t anyone believe him?
Jiang Zhi puts on his gloves, sparks of light dancing in his purple eyes. With a soft laugh, he says, “Bian Shi, are your eyes really brown?”
Bian Shi panics and tries to make a run for it, but the powerful commander locks him up.
But Bian Shi refuses to give in. “You’re locking me up? I’ll show you what it means to search for a needle in the ocean!”
Bian Shi escapes, and the usually calm and collected commander completely loses his cool...
