Wu Yan is mute. While scavenging for scrap, he witnesses a dragon and phoenix appearing in the world. These creatures are the immortal pets of an immortal, who creates the Tongxianbang online game and announces nationwide that everyone must cultivate immortality by playing it. In the end, only those who pass the trial can obtain advanced techniques and follow the immortal away. To Wu Yan's surprise, he has to scavenge for scrap in the game, too. Whatever work he did before entering the game, he must keep doing it afterward, or points will be deducted for playing truant. Only by doing good deeds and raising his Dao Heart value above one hundred can he obtain a basic cultivation technique. Follow Wu Yan, a mute scrap collector, as he sets out on the path to the Tongxianbang.
