Bai Chuze is the youngest five-star technician at the Bellheim Repair Center. He specializes in unclogging drains, fixing air conditioners, and exterminating Cthulhu-style horrors on call.
In an age when green slime seeps from air-conditioning vents and old televisions turn themselves on to broadcast death forecasts, some “special malfunctions” require a professional. While ordinary repairmen crawl into villas with wrenches, Bai Chuze’s power drill roars as it bores through a rat-faced infant monster nesting in a chandelier. Behind the shots from his nail gun, foul-smelling blood bursts from eldritch creatures invisible to ordinary people.
“Sixty yuan to kill four horrors. Even capitalists would weep.”
As an outside operative for the secretive organization Bellheim, Bai Chuze rides his secondhand electric scooter across Donghai City every day, repairing “home appliances” in both senses of the word. He has to make sure the air conditioners cool properly, and make the brain-eaters hiding inside them go cold for good.
His toolkit conceals secrets from the age of alchemy. When the blood-red moon appears over the city for the third time, his repair orders start showing the same mysterious code. An old radio crackles: “Employee 0237, you’re not fixing malfunctions. You’re dealing with the cracks they’re tearing into reality.”
Bai Chuze flips off the rearview mirror. “Just so we’re clear, this one costs extra.”

2. No trace of demons or monsters left behind, and all surveillance footage deleted
3. No charge if we can’t fix it. Deaths are billed separately.”
What a great book. The writing is very graphic and the plot is very interesting.
