The Buddha lived in the Great Thunder Sound Pagoda on Lingshan Mountain. One day, he summoned all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Arhats, Revealers, Vajras, monks, nuns and others to preach the Dharma.
In that blissful field, there are wonderful flowers falling from the sky, golden lotuses emerging from the ground, auspicious mist and auspicious clouds, and rainbow light shining everywhere.
There was a monk who looked like an ordinary monk. He did not listen to the Tathagata's Dharma and was dozing off. When he lost his footing, he woke up and seemed to be in a daze.
Suddenly, Tao cried loudly and knelt down in front of the Tathagata: "World Honored One! World Honored One!! What is the source of suffering in the world!!!"
Buddha said: "Don't say..."
The Tathagata was silent for a moment, closed his eyes and opened his mouth: "Bitterness is the root of sweetness; what is lower is the root of superiority. And vice versa."
The ordinary monk was still crying, "World Honored One! Please teach me the method to eliminate the pain in the world!"
"Golden Chan, now that you are in Buddhism, all the suffering in the world will not befall you."
"Golden Chan! Be aware! People's desires are grieving, and even if they knock down Mount Sumeru, it's hard to make up for it!!!"
When the monk heard this, he stopped crying and stood up.
"World Honored One, I want to sacrifice myself to fill this gap of desire."
The Tathagata sheds tears, and the Buddhas sigh.
"The Dharma comes from the empty door, and the empty door does not see the Dharma.
It is also illegal to seek the Dharma, since there is nothing to seek from the Dharma.
Cutting down the Bodhi tree breaks the Mingtai mind.
Drink dry and bitter sea water, and the pure land is covered with fine dust. "
