Hundreds of characters, dozens of wars; conspiracy and love, power and games. A glorious era of war and strife, a magnificent history of struggle for hegemony.
The Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period are an important chapter in Chinese history. It kicked off with King Zhou Ping's eastward migration, reproduced the rise of Qi and Chu and the struggle for hegemony between the two sides, and ended with Qi's apparent victory. But the struggle for hegemony among princes did not end. With the deaths of Guan Zhong and Duke Huan of Qi, Qi's strength gradually declined. After the exiled Jin prince Chong'er returned to the country, he finally achieved hegemony through retreating from Sanshe and the Battle of Chengpu.
The series of long historical novels "Flowing Fire Spring and Autumn" has a total of 5 parts, covering a historical time span of 300 years, starting with the Zheng Kingdom's Xiaoba in the Spring and Autumn Period and ending with the Yue Kingdom's dominance. The plot of this book is so exciting! Chong'er's experience was really rough. He wandered for 19 years and became king at the age of 60. However, he did not give up and eventually became the overlord of the Central Plains. The conspiracy and war scenes in the book are vividly described, and the characters' actions are very realistic, making me feel like I was in that era. I especially like the character Chong Er. I admire his persistence and hard work. I can't wait to see the next one!
