Retired special forces soldier Chen Mu unexpectedly became bound to the Martial God Mission System. The missions it assigned were mostly unconventional orders such as "complete difficult martial arts challenges without drawing attention," "protect ordinary people," and "show a little of your strength out on the streets." In return, he could earn rewards like lost ancient martial arts, rare medicinal herbs, and recipes for internal-force pills. Hiding his identity as a top soldier and disguising himself as a humble university janitor, he appeared meek and submissive, but secretly played the fool to catch his opponents off guard in campus tournaments, underground fight clubs, and clashes with ancient martial arts clans. Along the way, he fell in love with Su Qinghe, a gentle community worker, while taking on rivals from the ancient martial arts world who coveted the System. Ultimately, he broke through from the Bright Force stage all the way to Martial Saint, becoming the "invisible Martial God" who protects the city.
