Live Life to the Fullest: Springtime

When Wei Zhaoqing was born, the sun and moon shone together and all under heaven celebrated. She was born to nobility.

But a palace coup changed everything. Burdened with the hatred of her people and the vengeance owed to her family, she endured humiliation and bided her time, concealing her brilliance at every turn to protect her younger brother.

Looking back halfway through the story, she finds a dear friend who grew up alongside her and stayed by her side throughout; a kindred spirit, gifted in both talent and strategy, with whom she ultimately follows a different path; a top scholar who studied through the cold winter nights, determined to live by the sages’ teachings; and a woman general who, though born a woman, holds the heart of a warrior...

She returns, having carved her way through bloodshed. At first, she sought only revenge. Now, seeing the world in ruins and its people starving, she wishes only that no more wronged souls will linger at the Gates of Hell or on the Bridge of Helplessness...

Throughout this journey, Wei Zhaoqing’s thoughts and deeds remain true to her heart and to all under heaven. The only person she is fated to let down is Xiao Jingrong, whose heart and eyes hold only her...

Wei Zhaoqing: Let me play one last game of chess, wagering my life to bring peace to the realm...

Xiao Jingrong: I had nothing to begin with. Then I’ll protect what you protect and love what you love.
