During the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties in the ancient kingdom far to the east, wars raged without end and humanity suffered terribly. As malice grew ever stronger, it gave birth to a collective of resentment that fed on strife and hatred... Driven by curiosity, it came to Japan a thousand years ago, bringing a never-ending tide of curses and suffering. After it wreaked havoc for centuries, the Jujutsu Society became aware of its existence and classified it as a Special Grade Imaginary Cursed Spirit: Akutagawa Shinsuke... The first Six Eyes bearer died alongside it at “Hinata,” but it did not perish. It attached itself to human bodies and reincarnated through more than a dozen lifetimes. In its sixteenth life, it became classmates with the current Six Eyes bearer, Satoru Gojo.

Akutagawa Shinsuke: “I'm tired of this meaningless fighting. Sometimes I really wish I could see the world from a human perspective.”

Sixteenth life, Hisai Chiyu: “Six Eyes, you're such an irritating guy.”

Satoru Gojo: “You can be so kind to everyone else, but with me, your disdain practically spills out of your eyes.”

Suguru Geto: “Satoru, he might not be able to think of you as a friend.”
