Lonesome Dove: All Three Volumes

"Lonesome Dove" tells the story of the adventures of a group of cowboys, who encounter various difficulties along the way, but also shows the fragility, loneliness and love of human nature. The characters in the book are vivid, such as the two pigs eating rattlesnakes, which are impressive. The author's description is very vivid, "the sun is like a stubborn mule", which makes people feel like they are in Lone Pigeon Town. This is a great book worth reading!

A long and moving piece of work

It's so wonderful. I like Augustus McCreary the most. He is humorous and can be objective about discovering the beauty in life no matter where he is.

Larry uses desolate brush strokes to unfold the long journey of cowboys migrating north to herd, and the wilderness, life, death and friendship are blended into the unique rough poetry of the West. Call has transformed from a rigid and tough guy into a gentle loner trapped by responsibility. He is restrained and tolerant, hiding a softness that is not shared with others; Augustus is by no means a wanderer, but a western bard who has seen through the world but sticks to his heart. The two of them, one sinking and the other escaping, wrote the most touching background of human nature and the world before the end of the Western era in the wilderness at sunset.

Gus is a smart and funny man, but it's a pity that he ended up being so stubborn just to maintain the legend of his youth. Alas, it's a pity

This book is very well written and I like the character of Jack. True and magnanimous, showing the nakedness of human nature to the fullest!
