Recognized by Hou Yi from the Start, This Archer Is Invincible

The Huainanzi, in its “Fundamentals of the Way” chapter, records:

“Yao sent Yi to slay Chisel-Tooth in the wilds of Chouhua,

to kill the Nine Infants on the banks of the Xiong River,

to bring down the Great Wind in the marshes of Qingqiu,

to shoot the ten suns from the sky and slay Yayu below,

to cut the Long Serpent down at Dongting,

and to capture Fengxi in the mulberry grove.

All the people rejoiced. They raised Yao up as Son of Heaven.”

Facing the Four Great Fiends, Lu Ming slowly raised the vermilion bow and plain arrows in his hands.
