The Whole Truth About History

The departed are like flowing water, and the years pass like a stream. Open the windows onto history and gaze into the distance. Every era is a splendid painting, shaped by the storms that swept across the land and filled with countless human joys and sorrows. Yet what you see of history may be only an outward appearance. Countless secrets lie hidden behind the scenes. The truth you know may be only one fragment, with another ending deliberately concealed.

History is an endless game of addition and subtraction. Some episodes are selectively forgotten, some deliberately pushed to the margins, some banished to the depths of the past, and others maliciously rewritten. Then the wild growth of time buries them layer upon layer, making five thousand years of Chinese history seem all the more baffling and obscure.

Listen to the storms of ages past. When all the splendor has become history and every glory has faded, let us brew a cup of tea, light a stick of incense, and quietly explore the past buried by time and rewritten by human hands. Uncover the facts behind the fanciful tales, investigate mysteries shrouded in doubt, expose shocking political conspiracies, trace the changes in people and society through history, and restore the truth of dramatic moments.

Draw near to those soul-stirring scenes and touch those vivid, lifelike faces. Some inspire admiration and stir the heart; some are warm and worthy of respect, like a gentle spring breeze; some astonish and amaze; and some evoke pity and leave us sighing with sorrow. Over thousands of years, the lives of millions have been filled with grief and joy, confusion and longing, woven into a magnificent historical epic that moves the soul and surges on without end.
