Journey to the West: Sun Wukong Is Spoiled from the Start

[No System + Leveling Progression + No Female Lead + Imaginative Premise]

What choices would Sun Wukong make if he knew his whole life from the start?

Brother Monkey: Thanks, I’ve already packed a bucket and run away in the middle of the night. (Not really.)

After being spoiled, the monkey avoids every pitfall and becomes a workaholic, waking earlier than the chickens and going to bed later than the dogs. He also makes sure to expand his territory and gather as many friends as possible.

Just as he’s feeling pleased with his bright future, an Investiture of the Gods drops from the sky and knocks him for a loop.

Brother Monkey: How can anyone be this unlucky?! (Tsk, tsk, tsk.)

The Sage of Shangqing: ...I feel like I’ve just been shot in the knee.

Just then, a Taoist named Zhunti, who prefers to keep his identity under wraps, happens to pass by and offers him an olive branch. “Young man, we are destined to meet.”

The Sage of Shangqing: Say that again? (Raises the Qingping Sword.)

But Heaven’s Will says that without becoming a sage, you’ll turn to ashes in the end. Everything you do is just jumping from one besieged city to another.

You can’t save everyone you love, and you can’t save yourself from the calamity destined to befall you.

But the one facing it is Sun Wukong

“If Heaven won’t save me, I’ll save myself.”

(This story has no romantic pairing for the protagonist.)
