He comes from an ancient era, perhaps the only surviving blood descendant of the Eight Royal Clans. Once the most gifted of the eight clans, he was the young lord of the Cang Clan. After the Battle of the Heavenly Domains, the Human Emperor and the clan leaders were gravely wounded by a curse laid upon them by powerful beings from other domains, who used them as sacrifices. In the end, the Human Emperor forcibly summoned the power of the Heavenly Domains to purge the bloodline curse. Though he failed, he managed to seal away most of its power. The Human Emperor and the other domain lords perished together. The various Heavenly Domains were devastated and sealed off, their spiritual energy dissipating as the world entered the Age of Declining Dharma.
Yet the bloodlines of the eight clans were still cursed by powerful beings from beyond the heavens, with their blood serving as the medium. The younger generation's lifespans dwindled, and breaking through their limits became far more difficult.
The Cang King rallied his entire clan to cross the river of time, sealing the bloodline and curse within his direct descendants before sending them to a later era. The other clans followed suit.
Yet the curse is also an opportunity. Legend has it that gathering the world's nine ninth-grade bloodlines may allow one to awaken an ancestral origin bloodline that surpasses the ninth grade. But two of the ninth-grade bloodlines have already vanished into the river of time. What's more, ninth-grade bloodlines are incompatible. One person once tried to merge them, only to explode and die.
