I Leave My Love to You

This is the story of Chunying, a rural woman born in the 1960s, and her husband Qianzi, whose love endures until death. From the countryside to Guangzhou, their story reflects the emotional struggles of our generation of migrant workers. Facing the pressures of life, love, parents, and children, she draws on her own experiences to show us how to find our way through. Here are memories of our childhood and the happiness and joy we felt then. Here, too, are our generation’s worries about our children growing up, and glimpses into their inner worlds. The novel vividly portrays what everyone is feeling.

Guided by the novel’s protagonist, we no longer feel lost or anxious. We can stop taking part in the rat race of the wealthy and live simply and healthily. Ordinary people can find the truest kind of love in their hearts, a love that lasts until death. Let the love of our generation inspire our children and fill them with a longing for love. This story is about you and me today. The characters are fictional, but the life they lead is real.
