Mr. Shen's Beloved Bride by Proxy

[Cool, aloof, gentle Dr. Shen × a delicate, teary-eyed young translator]

One-on-one, devoted to each other, sweet romance, nine-year age gap, growing-up romance

On the eve of her sister’s wedding, her sister vanished without a trace. Bound by a marriage contract, she was forced to take her place.

In public, she called him Mr. Shen. In private, she called him brother-in-law.

She thought they would live together in polite harmony until their three-year contract expired.

But one day, the furious man suddenly pinned her against the bathroom wall, eyes red as he asked, “What did you call me?”

“Shen… Shen Jiqing…”

His scorching breath brushed her ear, faintly scented with alcohol. “Hmm?”

“Hu… husband.”

“So you do remember you have a husband, hmm?”

With red-rimmed eyes, the young woman reached for his buttons, trembling. Her voice was so quiet it was almost inaudible, and her little face flushed scarlet. “I’m willing to have your baby.”

“Don’t be silly.” He caught her hand and pushed it away.

Later, a travel-worn man pushed open her bedroom door in the dead of night and reached to tug off her pajamas. The girl in bed jolted awake, so frightened she didn’t know what to do. “W-what are you doing…?”

“Be good,” he coaxed softly in her ear. “Didn’t you say you wanted to have my baby? Let me show you how.”

It turned out he was the one who had fallen first, from the very beginning.

I’ll wait for winter to pass and spring to return, for the flowers to bloom, and for you to understand my love.
