About the author: Qiu Qingyuan (1873-1948), courtesy name Jisheng, was born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and was a famous physician in modern times. At the age of 16, he entered a bank as an apprentice. Due to lung disease, he worked hard to specialize in traditional Chinese medicine. He studied medical books by himself, studied them day and night, and collected old and secret books. He studied with great concentration, and his attainments deepened day by day. Later, he gradually treated people's diseases, and every time he got good results, his reputation became great. At that time, the country was in turmoil, so he went far away to the northeast when something happened. In the early years of the Republic of China, he returned to Shaoxing, changed his name to Jisheng, took medicine as his profession, and took it as his responsibility to help people in the world. He once chaired the Shaoxing Medical Federation, co-founded the "Journal of Shaoxing Medical Journal" with He Lianchen, Cao Bingzhang and others, and also edited the "Chinese Medicine Hundreds Series", and then served as the vice president of Shaojun Medical Research Society. After the abolition of traditional Chinese medicine in 1920, Qiu Jisheng, Cao Bingzhang and others petitioned Nanjing on behalf of the traditional Chinese medicine community and actively participated in the national salvation struggle against the abolition of traditional Chinese medicine. In 1923, he moved to Hangzhou and established the Sansan Medical Society. He published the "Sansan Medical News", published advertisements, and consulted fellow society members to search for secret books collected across the country. He obtained more than a thousand kinds of books, which were carefully selected and published in 1924 as the "Sansan Medical Book". Later, nearly a hundred rare and unique copies were selected, and in 1936, it was agreed with World Book Company to publish the first volume of "Collection of Rare Medical Books". Although the book catalog for the second and third episodes was finalized, it was not ready for publication when the Anti-Japanese War broke out and was forced to stop. In addition, Shang edited and wrote books such as "Medical Miscellaneous Works", "Medical Talk Collection", "Xinglin Wenyuan", and "Women's Therapeutics".
