The story focuses not only on the students' exam preparations, but also on supporting their personal dreams and exploring family education. Like a keeper of the fields, Hao Nan watches over the children's dreams, encouraging them not to give up in the face of hardship and to bravely pursue their goals. The drama also explores the complicated relationships within their families and offers a deep portrayal of the students' mental states.
The characters are also vivid and distinctive, and their growth and changes form the main thread of the series. For example, Ren Zhen's father influences her choice of college entrance exam preferences, but with Teacher Hao's support, she ultimately fulfills her dream of becoming a doctor. Another student, Gao Yuan, is passionate about becoming a pilot but cannot pursue that dream because of his family circumstances. With Teacher Hao's help, however, he gets to fulfill his wish. Wang Fang, the least conspicuous student in the class, also overcomes his inferiority and anxiety under Teacher Hao's guidance and ultimately gets into university.
