A summary of the academic thoughts of Mr. Yan Jiayan, a famous literary historian, literary critic and "leading figure" of the second generation of modern Chinese literature researchers. Many of its contents complement each other's hot topics in literary history research and literary criticism, such as the nature of the "May Fourth" literary revolution; such as the many issues of correcting chaos and getting literary research back on track after the "Cultural Revolution"; exploring and sorting out the contributions of various schools in the history of modern literature, etc.

This book is so rich in content! It explores many hot topics in literary history and literary criticism, and also mentions different people's views on the nature of the May Fourth literary revolution. It reminds me of "Thirty Years of Modern Chinese Literature", which also explores modern Chinese literature in depth. Mr. Yan Jiayan's views are very enlightening and make me think more deeply about literature. I think this book is a good book worth reading for people who like literature.
