Fang Yu is the seventy-second-generation successor to Sword Saint Pei Min. While gaming at an internet cafe, he clicks the character respawn screen and is inexplicably transported into the sea of consciousness of a cultivator on the Continent of Ten Thousand Demons. A Golden Core evil cultivator is attempting to possess a junior disciple of Baiyun Valley. The two fight, and Fang Yu reaps the benefits.
Fang Yu takes over the body of a person from another world who happens to have the same name. When he opens his eyes, a voice sounds in his mind: “Congratulations, Host. You have been bound to the Myriad Worlds Mission System. Here’s a beginner’s gift pack: one first-tier, low-grade spirit beast, a toad. It can be bound as your life-bound spirit beast.”
