The daughter of Jiangnan’s richest man is sickly, and they say she coughs every three steps and wheezes every five. Even so, when word spread that the Liu family was seeking a live-in son-in-law, so many people showed up that they practically broke down the gates, including plenty of talented young men from respectable families.
Though the Jiang dynasty ranks officials, commoners, farmers, and merchants in that order, with merchants at the very bottom, who would ever complain about having too much money?
Liu Qingshuang had a nightmare. In it, the husband her father chose for her was a vile scoundrel. He used her family’s money to pass the imperial exams and earn the title of top third-place scholar, then planned to drain her family dry to pave the way for his career!
After doing all that, the ungrateful wolf cub even used her family’s money to order a band of men to pose as bandits and kill her, all so he could marry a princess and reach the pinnacle of success!
Her entire family was wiped out, and their fortune was seized!
So her whole family were just a bunch of hapless fools? And cannon fodder, no less!
So the first thing Liu Bingshuang did after waking up was dump the scoundrel. She would shine on her own!
But what was going on with that handsome young gentleman in front of her?
Oh no! It seemed she couldn’t get rid of him!
One-on-one romance. The leads are both physically and emotionally pure. Happy ending. A fake second-chance romance. This is a made-up historical setting, so don’t take it too seriously.
The plot is compact and the writing is not trivial. I quite like Liu Qingshuang's temperament. If the author writes well, this book will definitely be good. I'm looking forward to it.
