Journey to the East: I'm Not the Victorious Fighting Buddha

The Great Sage Equal to Heaven protected the holy monk on his journey west to obtain the scriptures. His fame spread across the Nine Provinces and his legend reached every corner of the world. All under heaven revered him!

The history books say he was the inheritor of justice, the hope of mankind, a prodigal who turned back from the endless sea of suffering, and a battle god who laid down his butcher's knife and attained Buddhahood.

But some questioned the truth of history and resolved to seek it with their own hands. The monkey demons of Flower-Fruit Mountain had not seen their king for countless years, and the tales of the demon world's hero were about to be forgotten.

Unwilling to remain bit players in the Three Realms, the demons formed the Alliance of Ten Thousand Demons, determined to bring their former hero back in their own way. Though the alliance had lost its spiritual leader, it was still commanded by mighty figures such as the Great Sage Who Pacifies Heaven, the Bull Demon King; the Great Sage Who Overturns the Seas, the Flood Dragon Demon King; and the Great Sage Who Blends with Heaven, the Roc Demon King. Even so, they were on the back foot shortly after the war began, then were firmly trapped within Flower-Fruit Mountain by a hundred thousand heavenly soldiers, unable to advance a single step.

The sun sank in the west, and night fell.

The wheels of war thundered through the Three Realms, crushing the bodies and souls of countless living beings and shattering the will of the demons still struggling to survive. Even the mighty Great Sage Who Pacifies Heaven, the resilient Great Sage Who Overturns the Seas, and the tenacious Great Sage Who Blends with Heaven were nearing their limits. They were preparing to lead the demons of Flower-Fruit Mountain in following Sun Wukong's example and returning to the embrace of the gods of Heaven, only to become their most loyal dogs.

Then one day, news came from the Western Heaven…

Hope for resistance flared anew in Flower-Fruit Mountain, the demons' sacred refuge, which had been on the verge of collapse. The hundred thousand aggressive heavenly soldiers suddenly felt as if they stood at the edge of an abyss.

Even the immovable Great Thunderclap Monastery and the enigmatic Doushuai Palace, in a rare move, made their voices heard once more.
