"Classic Chang Tan" is a simple introduction to ancient Chinese classics in vernacular. The book includes thirteen chapters including "Shuowen Jiezi", "Book of Changes", "Book of Changes", "Book of Songs", Three Rites, "Spring and Autumn", Three Biography, Four Books, "Warring States Policy", "Historical Records", "Hanshu", Zhuzi, Ci Fu, Poetry, and Wen. Mr. Zhu Ziqing said: "Classical training should be a necessary item in education above secondary level. The value of classical training is not practical, but cultural." This book is not only an introductory book on classical training, but also a model for popularizing Chinese traditional culture. This edition of "Classic Chang Tan" is based on the first edition of Wenguang Bookstore in 1946, which retains the original appearance and characteristics of the times to the greatest extent; in addition to the main text, fourteen articles by Zhu Ziqing have been carefully selected as "extended reading". The version of each article is marked at the end of the article, and has been verified according to the text approved (or written) by the author during his lifetime. The newly added articles are also closely related to "Talking about Classics", either outlining and outlining methods for learning and understanding literature, especially classical literature; or discussing some important topics in the study of classical literature; or using specific works as examples to demonstrate methods of reading and interpreting poetry.
