Qimen has two divisions: the Bright Division and the Shadow Division. The Bright Division has six constables who answer to the imperial court and serve the emperor. The Shadow Division has twenty-four shadow agents who lurk in darkness, unknown to all. The shadow agents have no given names, only surnames. Yang Yi is both a name and a rank. Only the most powerful agent in Qimen's Shadow Division deserves to be called Yang Yi.
