Synopsis

"The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" (full name "The Popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms", also known as "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms") is a long chapter-length historical romance novel created by the late Yuan and early Ming dynasty novelist Luo Guanzhong based on Chen Shou's "Three Kingdoms" and Pei Songzhi's annotations and folk tales of the Three Kingdoms. It is also known as the four classic Chinese classics along with "Journey to the West", "Water Margin" and "Dream of Red Mansions". After the work was written, several versions including the Jiajing Renwu version were handed down to the world. At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, Mao Zonggang reorganized "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", revised the diction, and changed the poems. This version has also become the highest-level and most widely circulated version among the many versions.

The book "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is really wonderful! I especially like the Battle of Red Cliff in the book. I particularly admire the resourcefulness of Zhuge Liang and Zhou Yu. I felt like I was on the battlefield, nervous and excited along with them. This reminds me that I also need wisdom and courage in pursuing true love. Moreover, the characters in the book are very vivid, and I seem to be able to see them come alive in front of me. Every time I read this book, I have new feelings and inspirations.
