The male lead is a boy who wears a cochlear implant and is somewhat insecure. The female lead is starved for affection and also somewhat insecure. After her parents divorce, she moves with her father to a new city. In an alley, she meets the male lead's younger brother. Later, she discovers that she and the male lead are classmates too. He's very insecure and often wears a hat because he's afraid others will notice how he's different. With the female lead by his side, he gradually becomes less insecure, and stops wearing a hat in summer.
Later on, the female lead thinks the male lead is exhausted, so she lies and tells him she has a boyfriend in the new city. They spend a long time apart, and all sorts of things start getting better. At a bar her fans have been urging her to visit, she runs into the male lead.
After getting drunk one time, he looks at her with red-rimmed eyes and says, "Even if you treat me as a backup, that's fine..."
After spending a long time together, they decide to give being together another try.
