Ahem, back to the point: If you wound up in their world for some unknown reason, what would you do? Join them, or watch from the sidelines?
Watching their beginning from the end always seems to carry a touch of sadness. When I first met them, I tried to save them, but a white-haired zombie monster tore a chunk of flesh right off me. Then I was injured again and again. Thankfully, I was a zombie monster and couldn’t die.
One afternoon, after the rain had stopped and the sun had come out for a while, Wu Xie sat in an old man’s chair, reading. Something seemed to cross his mind, and he suddenly asked me, “Can Double Pupils really see the future?”
I touched my eyes and smiled. “Want me to change your fate and tell you everything?”
He thought for a moment, then shook his head with a soft laugh. “Better not. Life needs a little mystery.” It wasn’t that he didn’t trust me. Some truths, though, were for them to discover on their own.
