If the Mountain Has Trees, Do You Know?

Seven years ago, Lin Jitang was convicted in the fallout of a political struggle at court. He should have been executed, but thanks to his eldest son-in-law, his sentence was commuted to exile, and the entire family was banished to the desolate lands of Lingnan.

Seven years later, a general amnesty is declared, allowing the Lin family to return to the capital. On the day they open their new residence, the Lin family invites all their relatives and old friends. It is the first time Lin Zilu has seen Zhou Jingsheng since she was a child...

A mere daughter of a disgraced official, she is swept into one conspiracy after another. Is it all coincidence, or is someone pulling the strings?

Is it their climb to power, her years of careful planning, or his obsession and fixation?

Zhou Jingsheng says, “Zilu, be my woman, and I’ll protect you for the rest of your life. There will never be anyone else, not in this life or the next.”

Shangguan Liyan says, “Zilu, you saved my life. I’m willing to call upon the strength of my entire Shangguan clan to protect you.”

Ye Changgeng says, “Xiao Wu, why not come practice medicine with your master?”

As pear blossoms blanket the mountains like a sea, she promises him a lifetime together, growing old side by side...
