December, the coldest month of winter, also known as the "cold month", is a time when all things go dormant and die. It was at this moment that New York City ushered in a terrifying serial killer-the clockmaker.
Unknown corpses at the dock, simple office workers, flower shop owners, serving military officers...
What do these people have in common? The murderer left no trace at the scene, just like a perfect criminal who could not exist. For the first time, Lincoln Rhyme was so at a loss about a case, and yet, his right-hand assistant Sachs was investigating "another case" again.
The only thing that is the same is that the victims all received an eerie moon clock and a business card signed by the clockmaker. Two of them had been brutally killed, and the rest seemed to hear the approaching footsteps of death.
Tick, tick.
That's the sound of a clock.
