This book combines the current status of China's rule of law construction, is based on constitutional values, texts and practices, and uses interdisciplinary research methods from different research perspectives such as jurisprudence, constitutional law, criminal law, criminal procedure law, and comparative law to conduct a systematic study on the issue of constitutional control of the death penalty in my country. It strives to reveal the inherent logic of constitutional control and the death penalty system, and proposes the constitutional principles and boundaries that the death penalty system follows. This book mainly studies basic issues such as the death penalty system and constitutional values, the death penalty system and basic rights, legislative control of the death penalty system, due process in the application of the death penalty, overseas experience in the reform of the death penalty system, and dialogue on the contemporary fate of the death penalty system.
