Publication Notes: After the Chinese version of "The Complete Works of Aristotle" (10 volumes) was published in 1997, it won many awards including the Fourth National Book Award (1999) and the First Prize for Outstanding Achievements of the National Social Science Foundation Project (1999). For the convenience of readers, and in order to convey his experience in studying Western philosophy, especially ancient Greek philosophy, to readers, the editor-in-chief of the complete collection, Mr. Miao Litian, has compiled and selected the "Selected Works of Aristotle" with annotations (including volumes on metaphysics, ethics and politics, published in 1999-2000). Over the past few years, readers, especially college and graduate students, have been reporting the need for separate volumes of Aristotle's works. In order to meet the needs of these readers, we have published Aristotle's most influential works ("On Instruments", "Physics", "Metaphysics", "Nicomachean Ethics", "Politics" and "Rhetoric·Alexander's Rhetoric·On Poetry") in the form of single volumes. It should be noted that the translation of the separate version is generally consistent with the Complete Works of Aristotle. Changes in individual terms and names were personally corrected by Mr. Miao Litian when the complete collection was reprinted and made into an electronic version. The annotations in the separate volumes are consistent with those in the complete collection. The Greek words quoted in the footnotes of the complete collection are spelled according to the alphabet of the "Chinese Pinyin Plan" promulgated by the state. The translation, introduction and research of classic works of Western philosophy is an endless undertaking. Accurate and perfect translation, in-depth and detailed annotations, and even creative interpretation and development are ideal states that can only be approached but cannot be fully achieved. Continuously approaching this realm depends on the efforts of the academic community and the promotion of the publishing industry. We are willing to work with the academic community to continuously contribute to academic progress. China Renmin University Press

This book is very good! Aristotle's rhetoric and poetic thoughts are really profound and gave me a new understanding of language and literature. His analysis of the character's behavior is also very good, which reminded me of some views in "The Analects of Confucius". This book, like "The Analects of Confucius", is about classical thought. Although it comes from different cultures, it can both inspire people.
