Long Winds and Rising Tides

[Gentle, calculating, aloof beauty of an immortal lord vs. domineering, proud little princess; love across multiple lifetimes; one-on-one romance; both leads are devoted to each other; happy ending]

Gui Chao died, “dying” in the year she turned eighteen. Whether her old acquaintances have become nothing but mounds of earth, she doesn’t know, but she’s doing just fine.

She has plenty of regrets: Xiao Bao, who died at six, and that lone-crane-like figure who lost their life because of her...

Gui Chao was exhausted, so she founded a sect and took in a lively group of boys and girls who called her their master. The only problem was that the handsome, thoughtful disciple she had raised for eighteen years suddenly seemed like a different person.

Heartbroken, she put on a cold face and prepared to retire. Then she ascended to immortality, only to be told she was too inexperienced, and given a job no one else wanted: bring back the Moon God, who had descended to the mortal world to undergo tribulation and disappeared, refusing to return!

A thousand years later, atop the Cliff of All Life, she points her sword at Li Xiyun and asks whether he ever loved her.

He turns around with a carefree smile. “How could I not? I’ve loved you for ten thousand years.”

A long-lived wanderer lets the winds rise and clouds gather, while beneath the willow by moonlight, she polishes her sword and drinks her wine.

Everything in this world is as fleeting as mayflies over the ocean. The tide goes out, and in the end, it always returns.
