The Beggar Divine Doctor

During the Yongle era, Princess Shuhan, the beloved daughter of Ming Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di, is approaching her coming-of-age ceremony. The emperor decides to choose a young, handsome, unmarried top scorer from that year's palace examination as her consort. But the princess suddenly develops a rare form of blindness, and even the imperial physicians are helpless. When the emperor hears the news, he is frantic. Believing that true experts are often found among the common folk, he urgently issues proclamations across the prefectures, counties, and cities, posting royal notices far and wide to recruit a physician who can cure the princess's sudden blindness. A ragged beggar named Hualang, who earns his living playing the flute on the street, unexpectedly cures her. This beggar is, in truth, an extraordinary young man gifted with remarkable talent.
