The Brewer

The Noble Consort won the emperor's favor with a pot of osmanthus wine.

But it was her elder sister who had brewed it.

To win the emperor's favor, the Noble Consort had her sister brought into the palace.

But once the wine was ready, she feared her sister would expose her secret.

So she had all her sister's limbs cut off and stuffed her into a large jar, turning her into a human vessel.

Five years later, the Noble Consort secretly summoned a brewer to the palace.

Then she caught a familiar scent of wine wafting from the rear courtyard.
